Porta Potty Rentals for Plant Shutdowns and Refinery Turnarounds
When a turnaround starts, headcount on site can triple overnight and sanitation becomes a scheduling problem, not a rental. Buck Waste supplies and services porta potties, hand wash stations and holding tanks for plant shutdowns across the Houston Ship Channel corridor, with units cleaned on a daily schedule for as long as the job runs. We are a family owned, TCEQ registered company based in Crosby, twenty minutes from Baytown.

How Many Porta Potties Does a Turnaround Crew Need?
OSHA sets the minimum. Under 29 CFR 1926.51, a site with 20 or fewer workers needs at least one toilet facility. Above 20 workers, the standard is one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers. Above 200 workers, it is one toilet seat and one urinal per 50 workers. On a turnaround you size against peak headcount on the largest shift, not the total roster.
| Workers on shift | Minimum required |
|---|---|
| 20 or fewer | 1 toilet facility |
| 21 to 199 | 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers |
| 200 or more | 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 50 workers |
What We Recommend Above the Minimum
The OSHA figure is a floor, not a plan. On shutdowns we size higher for three reasons: crews break at the same time rather than spreading through the day, units at the far end of a unit or tank farm get used far harder than the ones near the gate, and a single unit taken out of service for cleaning cannot leave a section without coverage. Tell us your peak shift headcount, how many work fronts you are running, and the duration, and we will lay out unit counts and placement with you.
What Buck Waste Provides On Site
Standard and ADA accessible units, hand wash stations, and waste holding tanks, delivered and serviced by our own crew. Buck Waste runs a fleet of more than 100 units out of Crosby, and we have supplied turnarounds with more than 20 units serviced once a day for the length of the job.
- Standard portable restrooms, stocked with toilet paper and an odor control additive on every service
- ADA accessible units with ground level entry, for compliance and for crews with restricted mobility
- Hand wash stations with fresh water, soap and paper towels, sized to sit alongside unit banks
- Waste and water holding tanks for temporary facilities, offices and wash areas
- Restroom trailers when the job needs a step above standard units for supervision or client areas
One Vendor for the Whole Site
Restrooms, hand wash stations, holding tanks and the pumping that keeps all of it running come from the same company, on the same schedule, on one invoice. That matters on a turnaround because it removes the coordination problem of three vendors arriving on three different days at a gate that requires an escort.
Daily Service for as Long as the Job Runs
A shutdown does not pause because a unit filled up. Our standard on turnaround work is once a day cleaning, and we can build a schedule around your shift change so servicing never collides with a break. Units are pumped, washed, restocked and deodorized on every visit by our own technicians, never subcontractors.
Servicing Around a Shift Schedule
- Once a day cleaning as the baseline on shutdown work, adjustable to your shift pattern
- Service windows set around shift change so units are ready when crews break
- On site holding tank and high volume pumping on the same route, see septic tank pumping
- Additional units delivered mid job when headcount moves, subject to fleet availability
- Same day delivery on orders placed before 12 PM, weekend work booked by 5 PM Thursday
Gate, Badging and Escort Requirements
Tell us the access requirements before day one and we plan the route around them. Our technicians are used to sites that need sign in, escort, or a specific delivery window, and we would rather build that into the schedule than lose a service day to a gate we could not enter.

Straight Answers on Pricing
You get a real number over the phone rather than a quote emailed three days later. Call the Crosby office at (832) 761-2825 between 8 AM and 5:30 PM and office manager Rylee Holloway, who plans the routes, can usually price the job on the spot.
A Family Owned Crew That Runs Its Own Trucks
Buck Waste was founded in August 2024 by Enrique Sebastian Solano, who spent eight years running a CNC machine shop before starting the company with his wife to serve the fast growing communities northeast of Houston. It is family owned and minority owned, a HUB business and a member of the Crosby Huffman Chamber of Commerce. In under two years the company has supplied more than 1,000 job sites and completed over 20,000 portable restroom cleanings.
Marck Rosas is our lead technician and services both portable sanitation and septic accounts. Kelvin Rios handles deliveries, pickups and service routes. About 80 percent of our work is construction and industrial, which means shift work, mud, heat and moving work fronts are the normal condition rather than the exception.

Plant Shutdown and Turnaround Sanitation FAQs
How many porta potties does a plant turnaround need?
OSHA requires one toilet facility for 20 or fewer workers, one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers above 20, and one per 50 workers above 200. On a turnaround you size against peak headcount on the largest shift, and we usually recommend going above the minimum because crews break at the same time and work fronts are spread out. Tell us your headcount and we will size it.
Can you service units daily during a shutdown?
Yes. Once a day cleaning is our standard on turnaround work, and we set the service window around your shift change. We have run shutdowns with more than 20 units serviced daily for the length of the job.
How fast can you deliver to Baytown or Mont Belvieu?
Both are on our daily route from Crosby. Orders placed before 12 PM can be delivered the same day. Weekend work should be booked by 5 PM on Thursday.
Do you offer monthly billing and vendor registration?
Yes. Commercial and turnaround accounts are billed by contract, including monthly cycles on long duration work, and we provide certificates of insurance for your vendor file. We accept credit card and ACH.
Can you add units mid job if headcount changes?
Yes, subject to fleet availability. Turnaround scopes grow, and it is easier for us to plan for it if you flag the possibility when we set the initial order.
Do you handle the holding tanks and pumping too?
Yes. Waste and water holding tanks, plus on site pumping, run on the same route and the same invoice as the restrooms. See our septic tank pumping page for high volume pumping.
Are your units and crew set up for site access requirements?
Our technicians regularly work sites that require sign in, badging or an escort. Send the access requirements before the first delivery and we build them into the route.
What is included with each unit on an industrial job?
Every unit arrives clean and stocked with toilet paper and an odor control additive, and is pumped, washed and restocked on every scheduled service. ADA units and hand wash stations are available alongside standard units.
Planning a Turnaround or Shutdown?
Send us the dates, peak shift headcount and gate requirements, and we will come back with unit counts, a service schedule and a real price.
